Amazon Web Services • MIGRATION FROM VMWARE ON AWS TO AWS EC2

Hello,

We are currently working on a migration from VMware on AWS to EC2.

At present, we have Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR) in VMware and are using VB licensing from 2022.

Our environment consists of 100 instances: 90 running Windows and 10 running Linux. We are exploring the deployment of Veeam for AWS, either through the AWS Marketplace or via the existing VBR console.

We would like to know if it’s possible to use the same type of licensing for Veeam for AWS. Our current licensing is set to expire this year, and another provider has offered new licensing options. However, we are uncertain which type of licensing would be best suited to our architecture.

All instances have been migrated to AWS EC2. We are considering purchasing a 100-instance pack from the AWS Marketplace for the Windows workloads and adding 10 VUL licenses for the Linux workloads through VBR, as Application-Aware Processing is currently incompatible with Linux when using the Veeam for AWS console.

Is it possible to mix these licensing types—100 from the AWS Marketplace and 10 VUL licenses for Linux via VBR?

Thank you for your assistance.
